I think to many it means "anything that doesn't sound like the Ying Yang Twins". If you pronounce all of your "er"s and "ings"s...or just make sense in general people take it for that!
Listen Rev. Wright..he really does a great job in explaining this talking black thing....... I think it applies to talking white...basically they have kidnapped Speaking Correct English as Speaking White. There are PLENTY of white folks who don't speak correct English, but you don't say they talk White! No you just say they are country or whatever. I've thought about this and there is something in the voice of a black person that stands out whether they are speaking properly or not...I guess we can relate it more to speaking with an accent more than speaking bad English. I think we just pronounce some words different..similar to speaking as someone from the Northeast or an immigrant who learned English. We do speak different but it is not deficient. They should take that stigma off of so-called "speaking black" as though it's negative and speaking "white" is positive.
As long as you make sense when you speak English and correctly pronounce the words... no matter your accent...you should not be told you have to use the words in the exact same manner as the next person. We are all different remember!!! Some immigrants speak beautiful...correct...English! So speaking white is some more bullshit that they have used to divide US! They always set the rules..it's time for us to make some changes to their so-called rules! I have vowed to myself that I will not fall into thier little racial traps from the past...we have to think for ourselves instead of letting them tell us how to think! Anyway...peep Rev. Wright....listen to all of it..but the part that that relates to my point begins at 5:31....

I don't think we have ever discussed "talking white" in length. What does it actually mean?
